Venetian apartment, Venice, Italy

There is no such thing as a house without a soul, and in Venice that soul takes on different, evocative and unique forms. Garibaldi Architects has transformed a space lacking monumentality into an intimate and textured interior, shaped through light, natural finishes and art. There are no white “gallery” walls, but living surfaces instead: brown cocciopesto in the passageways, clay and lime plaster in shades of pink and ivory for the rooms. Every finish is natural and applied by hand by local artisans. The original floors, partly Venetian terrazzo with Levanto inserts and partly modern parquet, have become the basis for a language of harmonious contrasts. Fischbacher 1819’s KIODO fabric, proposed in two bold colourways, enriches this intimate and cultured space, where art, architecture and memory intertwine in a personal narrative.
