With AIM, Christian Fischbacher has succeeded in replicating the look of real silk with a fabric made from 100 per cent Trevira CS yarn. This trompe-l’œil is achieved by virtue of the silk-like iridescent effect and natural-looking slubs in the thread. Unlike real silk, the fabric is washable and suitable for use in public buildings. AIM also boasts the crisp feel characteristic of silk – another remarkable feature. This was achieved by experimenting with different temperatures in the final finishing of the fabric. AIM is made in the Italian region of Lombardy.
