The rose jacquard in Christian Fischbacher’s Antoinette is realized using the very difficult warp printing technique. Before weaving, the watercolour-like design is printed on the very fine warp threads (108 threads per cm), which calls for the highest precision. The printing temperature must be strictly adhered to in order to fix the colours and to retain the flame retardant properties of the Trevira CS filament. An Italian producer then weaves the fabric very finely, in order to bring out the colour gradations of the roses in the textile. Finally, Antoinette gets an Airo treatment, which gives it its soft feel and silky, elegant look.
