Inspired by Japanese kimonos and its stripe patterns, the fabric Yamamichi’s name literally means ‘mountain path’. This ingenious plain fabric gets its modern appearance by the interplay of the densities in the ribbed structure. The warp of Yamamichi comprises 136 threads per cm, each of which in turn consists of 36 individual filaments. This extraordinary density and fineness make for the luster and the silky effect of the upholstery fabric. It is colour matched with Koharu and Komon.
